Curriculum Vitae - Kylie Sinkovich

My artistic practice looks both through the eyes of an activist and a poet examining and trying to understand certain aspects of life, therefore it is divided into two main branches.

The first is more outward looking and is very conceptually driven, circulating around socio-political and environmental issues. It is carefully considered, researched, designed and crafted. The forms, materials and construction methods are often dictated by the concept being investigated.

The second is more inward looking and is a materials based investigation informed by a spiritual awareness seeking growth, with sensitivity to the materials I use. It is an experimentation with how I combine the elements of wood, stone & metal and is very intuitively focused.

As I work between the intersection of craft and design, both branches have this influence and both paths inform each other's progression.
